Natural Handmade Soap

The Marula Tree Soap Co. makes natural handmade soap from glycerin bases with additives such as Goat's Milk, Shea Butter, Honey and Marula Oil. Marula Oil is a unique oil pressed from the kernels of the Marula Trees in southern Africa. To learn more about the benefits of Marula Oil click here. All my products are vegan friendly except those with Goat's Milk and Honey. Thanks!

Zoo

Today we went to the Zoo..
I have such mixed feelings about the Zoo and every visit is always bittersweet. On one hand, I hate seeing the animals in small, unsatisfying enclosures, I don't like seeing the big cats overweight and out of shape, and I really don't like seeing animals pace their fences. On the other hand, I just love watching animals interact. Also, if it wasn't for Zoos, children wouldn't be able to see animals up close at a young age and instill that passion for living creatures and nature. And then even if some of us chose to boycott the zoo, it still wouldn't get shut down and just end up having a smaller budget for taking care of the animals. So with that said, I begrudgingly share these few pictures.. (Since I can't help but take them!)

Shark Fin Soap (Not Soup)

Today I finally added my Shark Fin Soap to my etsy lineup. With every sale I will donate $1 to Wild Aid to help fight the war against Shark Finning. Shark finning is when poachers capture sharks on mile long lines (among other things like dolphins, sea birds, sea turtles etc.) and cut their fins off, then throw them back in the water - unable to swim. The fins are then dried out and sold on the black market, often for a dish called "Shark Fin Soup" which allegedly actually has no flavour.

Pick up one of these cute soaps to support a good cause! Shop.

South Africa

Since we got back last March, I probably think of Africa at least once daily. Lately it has been even more often because this time last year we were mid-way through our African adventure. I was reminiscing through some pictures today and couldn't help but share some:

....!!

The Cinnamon Raisin Bagel soap is here!

Everyone that was around me when I was talking crazy about making soap will know how excited I am about this soap! This was my very first idea and I'm so happy I finally got it made. I had to blend 3 different scents to get the perfect smell where the cinnamon doesn't overpower everything else. It really smells delicious!

I haven't decided yet whether I should keep the two halves separate to make it more like a bagel and less like a donut. Any feedback on that would be great. Thanks!
