Coldplay

Last night was Coldplay at Rogers Arena! This is the 3rd time I've seen them live, and even though I always know what to expect (an amazing show) they never seize to blow my mind. Every concert they go above and beyond and really take care of their audience. On their Viva La Vida tour, everyone got a CD on their way out with 8 or 9 live tracks. This time, they handed us wristbands on the way in, and they were part of the show!

They were glowing and pulsing to the music, and everyone in the crowd had their hands up in the air, all blinking in different colours. Before they hit the stage about a third of the crowd's wristbands glowed for a few seconds and everyone just went nuts.

They played a lot of their older stuff, and even threw in Warning Sign, which was unexpected and amazing. After anticipating this concert for months I'm so sad it's over, I hope the rumours of their "last tour ever" are not true and they continue to come back to Vancouver!

Wanderlust

I have been in love with this word, and it's meaning ever since I first heard it. On the long weekend I had a date with my 2 friends to offer some support while they both got inked. At the last minute, one of the girls cancelled so it appeared that  her appointment was up for grabs! I've always been one to make super impulsive decisions - my second tattoo was drawn free hand with a ball point pen at a convention in vancouver - so it just seemed fitting that I would leap at the opportunity. I don't know what I have against making appointments for things, but I would just rather go for it. When my girlfriend cancelled it just seemed... meant to be!

So this is what I ended up with:

I absolutely loooooooove it! I love the word, the font, the placement, and Levi at IKandy did a phenomenal job! I'm so grateful that he was able to squeeze me in. Now everytime I look down on it I'll be reminded that there are still so many adventures to be had in my lifetime. Many, many adventures :)

Liuwa Handmade

Introducing.. Liuwa Handmade!
I decided to open up a second shop making clay faceted earrings. Although I love making soap, it's so satisfying to actually WEAR something that you've created, versus just washing it off. I've had a lot of fun with these and I love the bright colours for summer.

The name Liuwa is pronounced "Loo-wa" - I got the idea from a documentary I watched about a lone lioness called "The Last Lion of Liuwa", Liuwa being the name of the plains in Zambia. I wanted to keep with my african theme, and since the ultimate goal here is to save enough money to go back there soon, it seems fitting. The dream is still to spend as much time as I can afford at Harnas, (which I mentioned was on my bucket list in a past entry), as my ultimate dream is to work in wildlife rehabilitation in Africa. What better way to earn the money then to create fun products and find happiness in doing it?

You can find the official Liuwa facebook page here, where I'll announce new products, sales and random giveaways!
